Deniz Göktürk Kobanbay is a Turkish Production Designer–Art Director who has worked on numerous foreign & Turkish feature films & commercials. 

Throughout her career, she has had the good fortune to work with directors including Thomas Alfredson in ‘’Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’’, Ben Affleck in ‘’Argo’’, Hossein Amini in ‘’Two Faces of January’’, Omer Faruk Sorak in ‘’8 Seconds’’ , Fredrick Bond in ‘’Heineken’’, Serra Yılmaz ‘Cebimdeki Yabancı’,Ferzan Özpetek in ‘istanbul Rosso’,’Napoli Velata’and Yılmaz Erdoğan ‘Organize İşler2’ 

Deniz has worked as an Art Director on several foreign productions that were filmed in Turkey. She has had the chance to work with very experienced and recognised designers including Sharon Seymour, Micheal Carlin and James Merifield. 

In 2012, she was nominated for the Excellence in Production Design Award by the Art Directors Guild for the film “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” which won 3 Academy Award nominations (Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading, Role Gary Oldman; Best Writing for Adapted Screenplay; Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures- Original Score) and won 2 Bafta’s. 

In 2013, she was again nominated for the Excellence in Production Design Award by the Art Directors Guild for the movie “Argo” winner of 3 Academy Awards (Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Writing for Adapted Screenplay, Best Achievement in Film Editing), two Golden Globe awards, the Director’s Guild Award for Best Director and 3 Baftas. 

In 2015, The Heineken commercial which she works as a production designer, won Cannes Lion Bronze Award. 

In 2018 she won Best Production Designer award by DAVID THE DONETELLO for the movie Napoli Velata. 

In 2018 she won Best Production Designer award by CIAK D’ORO for the movie Napoli Velata. 

In 2018 she won Best Production Designer award by BIF&ST for the movie Napoli Velata. 

In 2018 she worked as a Production Designer in Netflix ‘The Protector’series. 

Currently, Deniz continues working on commercials & feature films.
